Below is some information on the pine cones we collect and deliver. If you have anymore questions please contact us.
Size
Our pine cones typically measure between 8 to 12cm high and 7 to 9cm wide. However, sizes do vary naturally. These measurements represent the most common size range you can expect from our collection.
Collection and quality
All our pine cones are collected on the Sunshine Coast and are shipped from forest direct to delivery, ensuring the freshest quality for our customers.
We maintain the highest standards by ensuring:
- No chemicals added - completely natural and untreated
- All natural - preserving the authentic forest character
Pine cones - closed and open
Pine cones are natural seed carriers that respond to moisture in fascinating ways. When wet, the scales of the pine cone close tightly to protect the seeds inside. This is nature’s way of ensuring seeds are only released in dry, favourable conditions.
Once dry, the cone reopens as the fibres shrink, allowing the seeds to disperse. This opening and closing mechanism is entirely natural and occurs without any need for external force.
If your pine cones arrive closed due to moisture, simply let them dry in a warm, sunny spot. You can place them in a low oven (40 degrees Celsius or lower) to restore their open shape, but this tends to be an inferior way to dry. Naturally opened pine cones look better.
